Suspension training versus free weight training: effects on explosive power, dynamic balance, and discus throwers performance

Background and Study Aim. This paper aims to compare the effects of two types resistance training programs (suspension free weight training) on explosive power, dynamic balance, discus throwers performance. Material Methods. Twenty-four male (with an average age: 19.17 ± 0.99 years; body mass: 99.87 3.63 kg; height: 177.23 3.16 cm) were assigned into three groups (eight subjects in each group); suspension (STG), (FWTG) control (CG). For eight weeks, underwent consisting sessions a week. Prior after period, throwing distance variables measured. The power was measured using medicine ball throw (SLJT) standing long jump (MBTT) tests. balance Y excursion test (YBT). according IAAF rules (DTT). Results. results showed that both experimental had significant effect MBTT, SLJT, DTT compared group. There difference YBT favoring STG when FWTG CG, also, CG directions (anterior, posterolateral, posteromedial). All improved tests from pre- post-test. Conclusions. We can conclude have created almost same improvements power. Also, more effective than for improving balance.
